Indian Army Opens TGC-143 Recruitment for Engineering Graduates



The Indian Army has initiated the application process for the Technical Graduate Course (TGC-143), allowing eligible engineering graduates to directly attain the rank of Lieutenant.

Understanding the Technical Graduate Course


The Technical Graduate Course is a unique recruitment initiative designed to select engineering graduates as officers in the Indian Army. Upon successful completion of training, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants. During their training, selected individuals receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,400. After training, a Lieutenant's salary can range from ₹56,100 to ₹177,500 per month, depending on their level 10, along with various allowances.


Required Educational Qualifications


Candidates must possess an engineering degree from a recognized institution. Acceptable disciplines include civil, computer science, electrical, electronics, mechanical, and other engineering fields. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree by July 1, 2026.


Age Criteria


Applicants must be aged between 20 and 27 years as of July 1, 2026, with birth dates falling between July 1, 1999, and June 30, 2006.


Physical Fitness Standards


Candidates must meet specific physical requirements, including a 2.4 km run, 40 push-ups, 6 pull-ups, 30 sit-ups, 30 squats, 10 lunges, and proficiency in swimming.
