Indian Army SSC NCC Special Entry 124th Course: The Indian Army has opened applications for the SSC NCC Special Entry (124th Course), set to begin in October 2026. Both unmarried men and women are eligible to apply. Graduates with an NCC certificate can submit their online applications by March 16, 2026, through the official Indian Army website.
Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army Recruitment 2026
Education and NCC Requirements: Applicants must hold a graduate degree and possess at least a 'B' grade in the NCC 'C' Certificate examination.
Age Limit: Candidates should be aged between 19 and 25 years as of July 1, 2026.
Marital Status: Only unmarried individuals are eligible for this recruitment.
Nationality: Indian citizens, as well as citizens of Nepal and individuals of Indian origin from certain countries who have settled in India, can apply.

Total Vacancies: The Army has announced a total of 76 positions for this recruitment drive.
NCC Men: 70 seats available (63 for the general category and 7 reserved for children of war martyrs).
NCC Women: 6 seats available (5 for the general category and 1 for children of war martyrs).
Training and Education
Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of intensive training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. Upon completion, they will receive a postgraduate diploma in Defense Management and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras. It is important to note that candidates cannot marry during their training period.
Physical Fitness Requirements
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet specific physical fitness criteria to qualify as Army officers.
For Men: 2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds, 30 push-ups, 40 pull-ups, and swimming proficiency.
For Women: 2.4 km run in 13 minutes, 15 push-ups, 2 pull-ups, and basic swimming skills.
Important Information
Training Costs: The government covers all training expenses. However, if a candidate chooses to withdraw from training, they must repay the training costs, which are approximately ₹20,482 per week.
