Indian Army Announces Recruitment for 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme


New Delhi: If you're planning to take the JEE Main 2025 and aspire to become an officer in the Indian Army, this is your chance. The Indian Army has released a recruitment notification under the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-55). There will be no separate written examination, and the last date to apply is November 13, 2025. This recruitment is aimed at young individuals who have completed their 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and have participated in JEE Main 2025.


The application process commenced on October 14, 2025, and the deadline is approaching. Interested candidates can apply online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This recruitment is for commissioned officers (10+2 TES-55 course), which will begin in July 2026. A total of 90 positions are available, and only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this scheme.


Educational Qualifications and Age Limit

Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in their 12th grade (PCM) and must have appeared for JEE Main 2025.
The age limit is set between 16.5 years and 19.5 years, meaning candidates must be born between January 2, 2007, and January 1, 2010.


Selection Process

This recruitment does not involve a written examination.


SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the SSB interview.


Shortlisting: Candidates will be selected based on their JEE Main scores and 12th-grade marks.


Medical Test: Candidates who pass the interview will need to clear a medical examination.


The cutoff marks for shortlisting will be announced in the third week of November. The SSB interviews are scheduled to take place between February and March 2026.


Training and Salary Structure

Selected candidates will undergo a training period of four years (3+1).


During training, a stipend of ₹56,100 per month will be provided.


Upon completion of the course, candidates will be awarded an engineering degree.


Cadets who successfully complete their training will be commissioned as Lieutenants with a permanent commission.


The initial CTC after commissioning will range from ₹17 to ₹18 lakhs (under Level-10 salary).


Fitness Standards

Selected candidates must meet the fitness standards set by the Indian Army, which include:


2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds


40 push-ups


6 pull-ups


30 sit-ups


30 squats in two sets


10 lunges in two sets


Basic swimming knowledge


Training Institutions for Engineering Degree

Selected cadets will be sent to three premier Cadet Training Wings (CTW) in the country:


CME Pune: Civil and Mechanical Engineering


MCTE Mahu: Telecommunications and IT Engineering (Dual Degree)


MCEME Secunderabad: Electronics and Mechanical Engineering
