Indian Army Recruitment Notification for Agniveer 2026


New Delhi: The Indian Army has issued a notification for the recruitment of over 25,000 Agniveers for the year 2026. Eligible unmarried male and female candidates can apply online before the deadline. This presents a remarkable opportunity for youth to join the Army and serve the nation.


The official notification for Agniveer Recruitment 2026 was released on February 12, 2026. Applications are invited from unmarried male and female candidates across the country. This campaign aims to fill more than 25,000 positions, including Agniveer General Duty (GD), Technical, Clerk/Storekeeper Technical, and Tradesman roles.


Application Timeline

Interested candidates can start applying online through the official portal from February 13, 2026.


Eligibility Criteria

Agniveer General Duty (GD): Candidates must have passed the 10th grade with at least 45% marks overall and a minimum of 33% in each subject.


Agniveer Technical: Candidates should have completed the 12th grade with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English) with a total of 50% marks and at least 40% in each subject, or have completed a 2-year ITI course after the 10th grade.


Agniveer Clerk/SKT: Candidates must have passed the 12th grade in any stream with a minimum of 60% overall and at least 50% in each subject, including English and Mathematics/Accountancy.


Agniveer Tradesman: Candidates should have passed the 8th or 10th grade with at least 33% marks in each subject.

Application Fee

The application or processing fee for all categories is ₹250. Payment can be made online through the SBI portal using net banking, credit card, or debit card. Please note that the fee is non-refundable once paid.


Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive a special monthly salary starting at ₹30,000 in the first year, increasing by ₹5,000 each subsequent year, reaching ₹40,000 by the fourth year. Of this salary, 30% will be deposited into the Agniveer fund, resulting in approximately ₹21,000 in the first year and around ₹28,000 in the fourth year.
