India Post has officially published the GDS third merit list for 2026 on its website. Candidates who applied for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions can now check their selection status online through the state-wise PDF merit list. A total of 6,690 candidates have been provisionally selected from various postal circles in this phase. Those listed in the third merit list will proceed to the document verification and medical examination stages.

What Happens After the Third Merit List 2026?

Candidates selected in the India Post GDS third merit list for 2026 will be called for document verification. During this process, they must bring original educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates, and other necessary documents.


Following successful document verification, candidates will undergo a medical examination. Only after both stages are completed successfully will the final appointment be confirmed.


This recruitment drive is for 28,636 positions, including Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM). The selection process is based on Class 10 marks, and no written examination has been conducted.
