Important Updates for NBEMS Diploma and DNB Broad Specialty Course Candidates
NBEMS Admission Guidelines for 2025 Session
NBEMS Announcement: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued a notice for candidates aiming to enroll in the NBEMS Diploma and Post-MBBS DNB Broad Specialty programs for the 2025 academic year. Candidates are required to finalize their joining procedures and complete a self-appraisal on the Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR).
As per NBEMS, all candidates who have been allocated seats through the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) and those admitted under the in-service quota from State Governments, Railways, PSUs, or ESIC must update their joining status on the OPJR portal. This requirement extends to NBEMS-accredited hospitals, which must verify the candidates' documents and details.
The OPJR portal will be operational starting March 9th. Candidates are expected to complete their joining process by April 9th, while hospitals must finish the verification by April 30th.
Mandatory Joining Formalities
The notice emphasizes that candidates must fulfill the joining formalities on the portal, complete the self-appraisal form, and ensure that the respective hospital uploads the joining report (Annexure-A). The hospital will then confirm the allocation details after thoroughly verifying the candidate's self-appraisal and documents. NBEMS has made it clear that the self-appraisal process is essential for determining the trainee's eligibility for registration, following the criteria outlined in the relevant information booklet.
Accredited hospitals are tasked with verifying original documents. For candidates from reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS), hospitals must validate the original and valid caste/category certificate in accordance with MCC guidelines.
Commencement of Training
NBEMS has clarified that for in-service candidates, training will only be recognized as having started once they are officially relieved from their parent institution. Any training undertaken prior to this will be deemed invalid.
Upon completion of all procedures and verification, candidates will receive a provisional registration letter. However, NBEMS has stated that this registration is provisional and subject to further verification. If any false or misleading information is discovered during the self-appraisal, the candidature may be revoked.
Furthermore, NBEMS has indicated that training must begin within the counseling reporting period, and no extensions to the joining date will be granted without prior approval.
