IIT Jodhpur Expands Educational Horizons with New Degree Programs
Introduction to New Degree Programs
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur is set to broaden its educational offerings beyond traditional engineering disciplines. In a groundbreaking initiative, the institute has partnered with Masai School to introduce new degree programs aimed at a diverse range of students, including those who have completed their 12th grade and working professionals. This move particularly benefits individuals from non-science backgrounds, allowing them to pursue their aspirations of studying at an IIT.
BS in Management and Technology
IIT Jodhpur has crafted a unique ‘BS in Management and Technology’ program that welcomes applicants from Arts, Commerce, and Humanities fields. To enroll, candidates must successfully complete a specialized ‘Qualifier Test.’ This comprehensive 8-semester course, totaling 141 credits, integrates technology, management, and social sciences, equipping students with both technical skills and managerial insights.
Flexible Learning with NEP 2020
In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, these programs provide a ‘Multiple Exit’ option. Students can choose to leave the program after their first, second, or third year, receiving appropriate certificates or diplomas based on their progress. This flexibility enhances students' confidence and independence in shaping their career trajectories.
MBA in Technology for Professionals
An ‘MBA in Technology’ program has been introduced specifically for working professionals. This 66-credit course is tailored for those looking to boost their leadership and strategic decision-making skills, focusing on AI, digital enterprises, and emerging technologies. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning.
Campus Experience and Alumni Network
Students enrolled in these new programs will not only earn a degree but also immerse themselves in the vibrant campus life at IIT Jodhpur. They will have access to various campus activities, clubs, festivals, and library resources. Graduates will be recognized as alumni of IIT Jodhpur, enhancing their professional connections.
