Admission Process Initiated by IIMC


The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has commenced the admission process for its MA and PG Diploma programs for the academic year 2026-2027. Interested candidates can visit the official website of the institute to apply. The first phase of registration, which requires a one-time payment of the registration fee, will be open from May 26 to June 7. During this period, applicants can fill in their preferences for seat allocation. The selection locking for this phase will take place on June 6 and 7, with the announcement of the first phase seat allocation scheduled for June 9.


Document Upload Dates

Candidates who are allocated seats in the first phase must submit their online consent (freeze/float) and upload the necessary documents between June 9 and June 14. They will also need to pay the seat acceptance fee during this time. IIMC will verify the documents for the first phase within this period.


When Will the Second Phase of Seat Allocation Be Announced?

The announcement for the second phase of seat allocation will be made on June 16. Candidates participating in this phase must submit their online consent letter, upload documents, and pay the seat acceptance fee between June 16 and June 20. Document verification for the second phase will be conducted by IIMC from June 16 to June 21.


When Will the Third Phase of Seat Allocation Be Announced?

The third phase of seat allocation will be announced on June 23. Candidates who receive seats in this phase must submit their consent (freeze/float), upload the required documents, and pay the seat acceptance fee between June 23 and June 26. The document verification process for the third phase will be carried out by IIMC from June 23 to June 27.


Eligibility Criteria for MA Programs


  1. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in any subject from a recognized university.

  2. A minimum of 55% marks in the bachelor's degree is required.

  3. Candidates must have a valid CUET PG score in Mass Communication and Journalism (COQP17).
