IGNOU Recruitment 2026: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), located in Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, has released a notification for the recruitment of non-teaching personnel. Breakdown of Positions:
Both Assistant Director positions are unreserved. Out of the four Technical Manager roles, three are unreserved while one is reserved for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer). For the eight Technical Assistant positions, five are unreserved, one is reserved for Scheduled Castes, and two for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer).

Qualifications for Positions

Technical Assistant Requirements:
For the eight Technical Assistant roles, candidates must hold a BE/B.Tech, M.Sc., or MCA degree in Computer Science/Information Technology with a minimum of 55% marks.

Technical Manager Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the four Technical Manager positions must also possess a BE/B.Tech, M.Sc., or MCA degree in Computer Science/Information Technology with at least 55% marks and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Assistant Director Qualifications:
For the two Assistant Director roles, candidates need a BE/B.Tech, M.Sc., or MCA degree in the relevant technical field with a minimum of 55% marks and at least 10 years of work experience.

Age Limit and Relaxation

Age Criteria:
Age will be calculated as of November 2, 2026. The maximum age limits for each position are as follows:

• Assistant Director: 48 years


• Technical Manager: 42 years


• Technical Assistant: 37 years

Age relaxation will be provided to SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwD candidates, ex-servicemen, and government employees as per Central Government regulations. IGNOU employees will also receive age relaxation according to the institute's recruitment and promotion policies.

Selection Process

IGNOU will establish criteria for shortlisting candidates based on qualifications, experience, screening, or a written examination as necessary. If a recruitment exam is held, details regarding the exam center and syllabus will be available on the IGNOU website.

The question paper may be available in English only or in both English and Hindi. In case of any discrepancies in interpretation, the English version will take precedence. Depending on the position, the final selection may involve a computer-based test/written test, skill test, and/or interview.
