The preliminary examination is scheduled for October, followed by the Mains exam in November. Notably, the exam pattern has been revised, reducing the number of questions in the Mains from 190 to 155.
Application Details and Important Dates
The initial deadline for applications was set for August 21 but has since been extended to August 28. Candidates must also complete their fee payment and any necessary corrections to their forms by this date. Printed application forms can be retrieved until September 5. The preliminary exam will take place in October 2025, with successful candidates advancing to the Mains exam in November 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. The age requirement ranges from 20 to 28 years, meaning candidates must be born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2005. There are age relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Additionally, proficiency in computer skills is mandatory.
Salary Structure and Selection Process
The starting salary for IBPS Clerks, now referred to as Customer Service Associates, ranges from ₹24,050 to ₹64,480. The selection process consists of an online preliminary exam followed by an online Mains exam. The preliminary exam lasts 60 minutes and includes 100 questions, with a penalty of 0.25 points for incorrect answers. The final merit list will be based solely on Mains exam scores, after which candidates will undergo a local language proficiency test.
Revised Exam Pattern
This year, the IBPS has modified the Mains exam format. Previously, candidates faced 190 questions; now, they will encounter only 155. The General and Financial Awareness and Reasoning sections will each have 40 questions instead of 50, while the Quantitative Aptitude section will feature 35 questions, down from 50. The total marks for the exam will remain unchanged.
