IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2025: The deadline for submitting online applications for clerk positions in Indian banks has been extended to August 28. Previously, the cutoff was set for August 21. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 10,277 vacancies across various government banks nationwide. Interested candidates are encouraged to complete their applications and pay the required fees before the new deadline.
The preliminary examination for the IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2025 is scheduled for October 2025. Candidates who pass this initial exam will be invited to participate in the Mains exam, which will take place in November 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must hold a graduation degree from a recognized institution. The age limit for candidates is set between 20 and 28 years, meaning applicants should have been born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2005.
Relaxations in the upper age limit are available: SC/ST candidates receive a 5-year extension, while OBC candidates are granted a 3-year extension. Additionally, candidates must possess a certificate, diploma, or degree in computer operations or have studied a computer/IT subject during their education.
Salary Structure:
The starting basic salary for clerks is approximately Rs 24,050, which can increase to Rs 64,480 over time. Candidates will also receive various allowances and benefits, enhancing the appeal of working in a government bank.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern:
The recruitment process includes an online preliminary exam followed by an online mains exam. The prelims will consist of 100 questions to be completed in 60 minutes, covering 30 questions in English (30 marks), 35 in numerical ability (35 marks), and 35 in reasoning ability (35 marks).
Note that there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in both the Prelims and Mains Objective Tests. The final merit list will be based solely on the Mains exam scores. Candidates are permitted to apply for only one state, although they can choose an exam center in a different state.
