The Haryana Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages, and Culture (Haryana DPR) announced these changes via the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter). The announcement stated, "The Haryana government has updated the syllabus for the HCS examination. The preliminary exam will now consist of two objective-type papers totaling 400 marks. The main examination will comprise 600 marks, including four General Studies papers and six descriptive papers, each lasting three hours and worth 100 marks."

With the new changes, the preliminary exam will now be 400 marks, and the main examination will feature six papers, including two new additions that candidates must prepare for.
