Government's Response to NEET UG Exam Leak

In light of the NEET UG exam paper leak, the central government is adopting a stringent approach. To ensure the integrity of the upcoming NEET UG re-examination, significant measures have been implemented. Notably, access to the Telegram platform will be temporarily restricted. The examination is scheduled for June 21, and the government has decided to impose this restriction until June 22.

Statement from the Examination Agency

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has issued a directive under Section 69 A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. This directive restricts access to the Telegram platform in India for a specified and limited duration, which includes the day of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination and the immediate period following it.

'Message Editing Feature to Remain Disabled Until June 30'

The NTA has indicated that the directive requires the platform to disable the 'message-editing' feature for previously posted messages in India until June 30, 2026. This action is specifically aimed at preventing the manipulation of evidence related to the 'paper leak' incidents that have occurred in connection with national examinations.
