Government Job Openings for Drivers at Bengaluru Mail Motor Service

New Driver Recruitment by the Department of Posts

The Department of Posts has unveiled a recruitment opportunity aimed at experienced drivers looking for government employment. A total of 11 positions for 'Staff Car Driver' will be filled at the Mail Motor Service (MMS) located in Bengaluru. Applications must be submitted through offline channels. Successful candidates will earn a salary between ₹19,900 and ₹63,200, aligned with the 7th Pay Commission, in addition to various government allowances. This recruitment is exclusively available to eligible Central Government employees on a deputation or absorption basis. Among the available positions, 10 are allocated for Bengaluru, while one is for the Mysuru sub-depot. The recruitment process will follow a deputation or absorption model. Applications will be accepted for 60 days from the date the advertisement appears in Employment News.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have completed the 10th grade from a recognized educational institution. A valid driving license for both light and heavy motor vehicles is also mandatory. Furthermore, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of driving experience and basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Age Limit

This recruitment is specifically for current Central Government employees. Preference will be given to Dispatch Riders and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) within the Department of Posts. If suitable candidates are not available from within the department, eligible employees from other Central Government departments may also be considered. The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 56 years as of the application deadline. Additionally, Armed Forces personnel who are set to retire within one year are also eligible to apply.
