A significant number of applicants have submitted their applications for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment, which offers over 28,000 positions within the Postal Department. The application phase has now closed, and candidates are eagerly anticipating the announcement of the recruitment results. Many are asking: When will the GDS results be available? Expected Release Date for the GDS First Merit List

This year, the GDS recruitment was announced for 28,636 positions, with online applications accepted from January 31 to February 16, 2026. In comparison, last year, the application window was from February 10 to March 3, 2025, for over 21,000 roles. The Postal Department published the first GDS merit list for various states on March 21, 2025, with subsequent lists released gradually over the following month and a half.


In 2024, applications were open from July 15 to August 5, and the first merit list was made available around August 19-20. Based on these historical trends, it is reasonable to predict that the first GDS merit list for this year may be released between March 10 and March 15, 2026. Please note that this date is tentative and not officially confirmed by GDS.


Where to Find the GDS Results

The GDS results will be published on the official India Post websites: www.indiapost.gov.in and indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Candidates can check the first merit list according to their respective circles. Here’s how to verify your name on the merit list:


1. Visit one of the official websites mentioned above.


2. Look for the link titled "GDS 1st Merit List PDF Download."


3. Click on the link that corresponds to your circle.


4. A list of candidates' roll numbers by circle and division will appear, along with the percentage cutoff.


5. Use Ctrl+F to search for your roll number. If it appears, your name is on the GDS first merit list.


Documents Required for Verification

If your name is on the merit list, you will be invited for document verification. It is essential to visit your regional division head office with all original documents. Prepare the following documents in advance:


1. Passport-sized photograph


2. Aadhaar card and PAN card


3. Email ID


4. 10th-grade mark sheet


5. Caste certificate (if applicable)


6. PWD certificate (if applicable)


7. Income certificate


8. NOC certificate for current employees
