FSSAI Announces Recruitment for Legal Consultant Roles
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released a recruitment notice (Advertisement No. 01/2026) for three positions of Legal Consultant. These roles are contractual and not regular government jobs.

FSSAI has reiterated the need for candidates to meet the eligibility requirements concerning qualifications and experience before applying for the Legal Consultant positions.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university, completed through a regular course. Degrees obtained from open universities or through distance learning will not be accepted. Therefore, candidates should confirm their eligibility based on their educational background and experience.
The upper age limit for applicants is set at 58 years, calculated as of the application deadline. Candidates should ensure they meet the age and other eligibility criteria as of October 22.
Those selected for the Legal Consultant role will receive a fixed monthly honorarium of ₹70,000, with no additional allowances for housing, medical, or local expenses. If the contract extends beyond one year, an annual increment of 5% will be applicable as per the rules.
The recruitment process will occur in two phases: first, eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications, and then those shortlisted will be invited for an interview. The interview date has yet to be announced, and candidates will be notified via email or phone.
