This highlights a significant demand for AI skills training, prompting various initiatives. Recently, EY and Microsoft have collaborated to offer complimentary AI skills training aimed at preparing the youth of India for future employment opportunities.
Launch of the AI Skills Passport Program
On Sunday, EY and Microsoft introduced the AI Skills Passport, a free online course tailored to equip young Indians with essential skills for thriving in an AI-centric job market. This initiative targets individuals aged 16 and above, facilitating the acquisition of AI competencies that are crucial for early career development.
Course Details and Learning Format
The AI Skills Passport course is accessible online and comprises around 10 hours of instructional content available in both English and Hindi. It features modular video lessons and hands-on exercises that delve into the basics of AI and its applications across sectors like healthcare, finance, and technology. Additionally, the course includes case studies, practical tasks, and career support, such as resume crafting, interview coaching, and networking techniques.
Certification and Impact
Participants who successfully complete the course will earn a digital badge. Monesh Dange, Partner and Leader at EY India Alliances and Ecosystems, emphasized the commitment to making this program both free and impactful, enabling widespread skill development in AI. Bhaskar Basu, Enterprise Partnership Leader at Microsoft India and South Asia, noted that AI is pivotal in reshaping India's digital economy, with the youth playing a central role.
