Dr. Akhilesh advises that many students who do not secure admission in India often choose to study MBBS in countries like Russia, Ukraine, China, or Mauritius. However, to practice in India upon their return, they must pass the local licensing examination. Admission in these countries is typically based on NEET scores, making it a viable option. While studying MBBS at private colleges in India can cost around one crore rupees, studying abroad can be significantly cheaper.
However, choosing a program solely based on lower fees is not recommended. Language barriers can be a significant challenge, as students may need to learn the local language first. After completing their medical education abroad, passing the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) is essential to practice as a doctor in India. To qualify for the FMGE or NEXT exam, students must have previously cleared NEET.
