Railway Recruitment Board Announces NTPC Vacancies



Candidates gearing up for railway jobs have reason to celebrate as the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has sanctioned the hiring of 8,875 positions under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) for the year 2025. These roles will be distributed across various railway zones, encompassing positions such as Station Masters, Goods Guards, Commercial Clerks, Accounts Clerks, Junior Typists, Trains Clerks, Senior Clerks cum Typists, Traffic Assistants, and other non-technical roles.


The recruitment process for RRB NTPC will unfold in multiple phases, which include a computer-based test, skill assessments, document verification, and medical evaluations. Candidates must successfully navigate all phases to secure a position. A comprehensive recruitment notification will be published by the Railway Recruitment Board shortly, and applications will be accepted exclusively online via the respective regional RRB websites.

Who is eligible to apply?


Out of the total 8,875 vacancies, 5,817 are designated for graduates, while 3,058 are available for candidates who have completed their 12th grade from a recognized board. The age criteria will differ based on the specific posts, with candidates from reserved categories receiving age relaxation in accordance with government regulations.


Breakdown of Vacancies in RRB NTPC 2025

Distribution of Positions:


The largest number of vacancies in the RRB NTPC recruitment is for the Goods Train Manager role, with 3,423 openings. Following this are the Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist with 921 vacancies and Station Master with 615. Additional roles include Senior Clerk-cum-Typist (638), Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor (161), and Traffic Assistant in Metro Railway (59). There are also 2,424 positions for Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerks, 394 for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typists, 163 for Junior Clerk-cum-Typists, and 77 for Trains Clerks.


Selection Process for RRB NTPC 2025

Understanding the NTPC Selection Process:


Candidates will be selected through a series of assessments, including CBT 1, CBT 2, and skill tests. Only those who pass the CBT 1 exam will qualify for the CBT 2 exam. The CBT 1 will consist of 100 questions, with 40 from General Awareness, 30 from Mathematics, and 30 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, all to be completed within a 90-minute timeframe.
