Railway Recruitment Board Announces Major Hiring



The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is set to initiate the application process for 22,000 Group D Level-1 positions, providing a significant opportunity for individuals who have completed their 10th grade.


This recruitment drive is a major relief for countless young aspirants eager to secure a position within the railway sector. The RRB has finalized plans for a substantial recruitment campaign aimed at filling approximately 22,000 vacancies nationwide. The recruitment will cover various roles, including Pointsman, Assistant, and Track Maintainer Grade-IV, among others. Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualifications:


Candidates must have completed their 10th grade from a recognized educational board. Possession of an ITI or NAC certificate may be advantageous for applicants seeking roles in technical departments. The railway authorities have set the minimum educational requirement at 10th pass to encourage maximum participation in this recruitment drive.


Age Limit and Relaxation

Age Requirements:


The age criteria for applicants is set between 18 and 33 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation in accordance with government regulations. Specifically, OBC candidates will benefit from a 3-year extension, while SC and ST candidates will enjoy a 5-year relaxation.


Salary and Benefits

Compensation Details:


Selected candidates for Group D Level-1 positions will receive a starting salary of ₹18,000 as per the 7th Pay Commission. Additional benefits include dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other perks in line with railway policies.


Selection Process

How Candidates Will Be Selected:


The selection process begins with a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Those who pass this initial stage will be invited to participate in a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) to evaluate their physical fitness. Candidates who successfully complete the PET will undergo document verification followed by a medical examination. Only those who clear all stages will be considered for final selection.

The application fee is set at ₹500 for General and OBC candidates. However, ₹400 will be refunded if the candidate appears for the CBT. For SC, ST, female, and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates, the fee is reduced to ₹250.
