Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teacher Roles in Goa

Applicants must fulfill specific educational and age criteria by the application deadline of February 20, 2026.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should have completed Higher Secondary (12th) with a minimum of 50% marks (or 45% as per NCTE guidelines) and possess one of the following qualifications:

• A 2-year Diploma in Primary Education (D.El.Ed/D.Ed), or


• A four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or


• A 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), or


• A Graduation degree with a 6-month bridge course in Elementary Education (B.Ed)

Additionally, candidates must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) recognized by the Government of Goa and should have at least two years of teaching experience in primary schools acknowledged by the Directorate of Education. Proficiency in Konkani is mandatory, while knowledge of Marathi is desirable.
