Eligibility Criteria

Who is eligible to apply?
The educational qualifications required for this recruitment range from a minimum of Class 10 to a maximum of Class 12. For the Sanitation Worker positions, candidates must have completed at least Class 8, with a maximum qualification of Class 12. It is essential that candidates possess the necessary educational qualifications by the application deadline. Original certificates will be required during the document verification process.


Age Limit Requirements

What is the age limit?
The maximum age limit is set at 40 years for candidates in the Open Merit (OM) category. For candidates belonging to SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, and OBC categories, the age limit is 43 years, while it is 42 years for Physically Challenged Persons. Specific age-related provisions for Ex-servicemen are also detailed in the notification. Additionally, casual workers may receive a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit, subject to applicable regulations. The age of candidates will be calculated as of January 1, 2026.


Domicile Requirement

Applicants must hold a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority must be obtained by the application deadline, which is November 3, 2026.


Application Fee Details

**What is the application fee?**
The application fee is ₹600 for candidates in the General category. For SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD candidates, the fee is ₹500. Payments can be made online using net banking, credit cards, or debit cards.


Selection Process

**How will the selection be conducted?**
JKSSB has outlined specific selection criteria for UT, Divisional, and District cadres. For the UT cadre, the written examination will account for 85 marks, with an additional 15 marks available for recognized qualifications. The written exam will be worth 80 marks for the Divisional cadre and 75 marks for the District cadre. Additional marks may be awarded for candidates from the home district in the District cadre.


The written examination will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions, exclusively in English. A negative marking system will apply, deducting one-fourth of a mark for incorrect answers. Further details regarding the examination date and centers will be announced on the JKSSB website.
