GDS Recruitment 2026 Now Open for Applications



Great news for young individuals who have completed their 10th grade and are looking for government job opportunities! The online application process for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026 has officially started today. This recruitment initiative aims to fill the roles of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak, with applications being accepted solely through online channels.


According to the official announcement, candidates can initiate the One-Time Registration (OTR) from August 31, 2026, until September 19, 2026, at 5 PM. The window for submitting online applications and fee payments will be open from September 2 to September 21, 2026. Additionally, a correction window will be available on September 23 and 24, 2026, allowing applicants to make necessary changes to their submissions.


Eligibility Criteria


To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must have completed their 10th grade from a recognized educational board, with Mathematics and English included in their curriculum. Furthermore, applicants should have proficiency in the regional language relevant to the area they are applying for.


The age requirements stipulate a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum of 40 years, with age relaxation applicable for candidates from reserved categories.


Salary Structure


Selected candidates for the BPM position will receive a Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380. For ABPM and Dak Sevak roles, the TRCA will be between ₹10,000 and ₹24,470. Additional allowances, including Dearness Allowance (DA), will also be provided.


Selection Process


Notably, there will be no written examination for this recruitment. Candidates will be chosen based on a merit list derived from their 10th-grade marks. Those shortlisted will be invited for document verification.


Application Fee Details


Candidates from the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. However, female candidates, as well as those from SC, ST, PwBD, and trans-woman categories, are exempt from this fee.
