Scale of Pay:
Salary package of Rs.18, 880-37,200/-

Essential Qualification for MEECL Recruitment 2015 :
Contenders should have Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/Electrical Engineering OR Mechanical Engineering OR Electrical & Electronics Engineering from any Indian University/Institute recognised by the Government of Meghalaya or UGC or AICTE.

Age Limitation:
-Applicants should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years as on 01.01.2015.

-Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 (five) years in case of ST/SC participants and further relaxable up to 2 (two) years for post graduate aspirants.

Fee Detail:
Job seekers (for General Category) need to pay the application fee of Rs. 460/- and Rs. 230/- for ST/SC candidates, payable at Shillong, in favour of the Principal Account, MEECL, Shillong.

As part of power sector reforms, the Meghalaya government has unbundled the Meghalaya State Electricity Board (MSEB) into four corporations under the Meghalaya Power Sector Reforms Transfer Scheme 2010.The newly-formed corporations are the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL), the holding company, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL), the distribution utility arm, Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Limited (MePGCL), the generation utility arm and the Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Limited (MEPTCL), the transmission utility arm.
Meghalaya, once a power surplus state, is presently starving for power. Against peak hour demand of 650 MW, the state’s power generation capacity presently is mere 175 MW, which is exclusively hydel-based.
