The UPSC NDA & NA Examination-II 2026 aims to fill 394 positions across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, with the exam set for September 13, 2026. With less than a month remaining, candidates aspiring to join the armed forces should focus on refining their preparation rather than diving into new subjects.


NDA Exam Structure and Scoring System

The NDA written exam consists of two sections. The first part is Mathematics, which is worth 300 marks and lasts for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The second part is the General Ability Test (GAT), totaling 600 marks and also lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes. This section includes 200 marks for English and 400 marks for General Knowledge. The General Knowledge segment is weighted as follows: Physics (25%), Chemistry (15%), General Science (10%), History (20%), Geography (20%), and Current Affairs (10%). Be aware that incorrect answers incur a penalty of one-third of a mark.


A 4-Stage Preparation Plan for the Final Month

With limited time left for the UPSC NDA & NA examination, concentrate on revising what you have already learned:



  1. First 10 Days (Review Syllabus and Formulas): Focus on revising essential mathematics topics such as Sets, Trigonometry, Differentiation, Integration, and Statistics. Also, practice grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension for the English section.


  2. Next 10 Days (Target Weak Areas): Revisit topics or question types where you consistently struggle in mock tests. Pay special attention to mathematical shortcuts and previous years' cut-off trends.


  3. Next 7 Days (Simulated Exam Conditions): Take a full-length mock test each day within the time constraints. After each test, analyze your errors and identify questions that take too long to solve.


  4. Last 3 Days (Light Revision): Avoid starting new topics or difficult subjects. Instead, focus on revising your short notes, math formulas, and current affairs.
