Delhi Schools Shift to Online Classes Amid Rising Pollution Levels
Delhi Schools Transition to Online Learning
Delhi Schools Closed: Pollution levels in various parts of Delhi-NCR have surged past 450, leading to alarming health issues. Many residents are experiencing symptoms such as coughs, colds, fevers, and headaches. The hazardous air quality is particularly detrimental to children, hindering their immune system development and placing them at greater risk. In response, the Delhi government has mandated that schools for grades up to 5 conduct classes online.
The pollution crisis in Delhi mirrors that of nearby areas like Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and Faridabad, where residents are also reporting eye irritation. However, the Uttar Pradesh government has yet to announce any measures for online schooling, leaving parents and students anxious. With pollution levels categorized as "very poor," the Delhi government has implemented Grade 3 measures, allowing hybrid classes for children up to grade 5.
Delhi Pollution Update: New Guidelines Expected Soon
The hybrid learning model for Delhi schools will remain in effect until November 14, 2025. Following this date, most schools will observe closures on Saturdays and Sundays. A decision regarding the mode of operation for schools on Monday, November 17, 2025, is anticipated by Sunday. Should the pollution levels persist, online classes may also be extended to senior students. Meanwhile, students in the NCR region, including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and Faridabad, are eagerly awaiting updates on school operations.
Delhi AQI: Safety Measures for Students
Schools in Delhi have communicated to students the shift to hybrid classes for those in grades up to five. Notifications have been sent out indicating that classes for grades six through twelve will proceed as scheduled. However, all students are required to wear N95 masks to mitigate the effects of pollution. It is advised that students wear masks when leaving their homes and minimize outdoor activities.
