Delhi Government Schools Launch Online Admission for Struggling Students
Introduction to the New Admission Process
The admission process will be entirely online, managed by school administrators through the NIOS platform. Classes will be conducted at around 75 designated government schools throughout Delhi.
Opportunity for Students in Government Schools
The Education Department has introduced a new initiative for students in Delhi's government schools who have not passed Class 9 or 10. This program, facilitated by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), allows these students to continue their education without dropping out.
Eligibility Criteria for Enrollment
Exclusive Benefits for Government School Students
This initiative is specifically for students who have attended Delhi's government schools. It is available for those who have failed Class 9 or 10 at least twice or are currently in a supplementary examination status. However, students who fail for the first time in the 2025-26 academic year will not be eligible and must continue at their current schools.
School Responsibilities in the Enrollment Process
Directives for Student Enrollment
The Education Department has mandated all government schools to identify eligible students, contact them, and encourage their enrollment in this program. Schools are also responsible for gathering necessary documentation and ensuring the application process is completed promptly, so no eligible student misses this chance.
Online Admission and Study Center Setup
Facilitated Online Process
The entire admission procedure will be conducted online, with school heads overseeing the process via the NIOS portal. Classes will take place at designated study centers within approximately 75 selected government schools in Delhi, providing students with consistent academic support.
Examination Fees and Subject Choices
Finalized Fees and Subject Options
For this initiative, the examination fee is set at ₹300 for each subject, while practical subjects will incur a fee of ₹150. A fee of ₹230 applies for the 'Transfer of Credit' (TOC) facility.
