Delhi Government Scholarship 2025-26 Overview
The Delhi Government has announced the opening of applications for its scholarship programs aimed at students from SC, ST, and OBC backgrounds for the academic year 2025-26. Eligible candidates can submit their applications via the e-district portal until April 30, 2026. This initiative aims to support economically disadvantaged yet academically talented students in pursuing higher education.
Benefits for Students from School to University Level
The government currently administers five state-funded scholarship schemes along with several centrally sponsored initiatives. Students enrolled in schools, colleges, and universities can take advantage of these programs. For students in Classes 1 to 12, tuition fees and other essential charges will be reimbursed, provided their family's annual income does not exceed ₹3 lakh and they meet the required attendance and academic standards.
Merit Scholarships for Higher Education
A merit-based scholarship program is available for students engaged in professional, technical, and higher education courses. Financial assistance ranging from ₹8,000 to ₹24,000 per year will be provided. To be eligible, students must achieve at least 60% marks in the previous academic year. Different financial support amounts are allocated for hostel residents and day scholars.
Special Awards for Top Performers
The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Topper Award scheme recognizes the highest-ranking SC, ST, and OBC students in each subject across various universities, awarding them ₹25,000. This initiative aims to motivate and honor outstanding students.
Additional Schemes and Benefits
Under the Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana, students in Classes 9 and 10 will receive ₹5,000 annually, while those in Classes 11 and 12 will get ₹10,000 per year. Additionally, SC students can receive financial support for pursuing Master's and Ph.D. degrees abroad, with a maximum limit of ₹20 lakh.
