CTET February 2026 Exam Announcement



The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the exam date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled for February 2026. Candidates are eagerly anticipating the commencement of the application process, which is expected to open soon.


Applications for this examination must be submitted online exclusively through the CBSE's official website, ctet.nic.in. Any other submission methods will not be accepted.


Eligibility Criteria for CTET Papers

Eligibility for Paper 1 and Paper 2


The CTET is divided into two sections: Paper 1 caters to candidates aiming to teach classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for those targeting classes 6 to 8. The eligibility requirements differ for each paper.


For CTET Paper 1, candidates must possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 50% marks in their 12th-grade examination. In certain cases, a B.Ed. degree alongside a bachelor's degree may also be necessary.


To qualify for CTET Paper 2, candidates need to have a bachelor's degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or an equivalent qualification.

The CBSE has set varying application fees based on the candidate's category. Those applying for only one paper will need to pay ₹1,000, while candidates opting for both papers must pay ₹1,200. Additionally, candidates from SC, ST, and differently-abled categories will be charged ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both.
