New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the admit card for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled for February 2026. Candidates who have registered for the exam can download their hall tickets from the official website ctet.nic.in. This examination is essential for those aspiring to become teachers for classes 1 to 8 in central government schools and affiliated institutions.

Understanding CTET

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by CBSE. It serves as a benchmark to determine the eligibility of candidates wishing to teach in classes I to VIII in central government schools and institutions.

Who Should Take CTET?

CTET is designed for individuals aiming to become teachers in central government schools (such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas) for classes 1 to 8. It establishes a national standard for teacher qualifications, comprising Paper 1 for primary level (1-5) and Paper 2 for upper primary level (6-8), requiring a specific educational background like B.Ed or D.El.Ed.

Important Dates and Instructions

Previously, CBSE advised candidates via social media to carefully check the CTET exam date, shift, and time mentioned on their admit cards. They emphasized the importance of arriving at the examination center well ahead of time, stating that entry would not be permitted after the reporting time. Additionally, requests for changes in exam city, center, or date will not be entertained.

Step 3: Enter your application number, date of birth, and security pin.
Step 4: Your CTET admit card will appear on the screen; review all details carefully.
Step 5: Download the admit card and print it for the exam day.

CTET 2026 Exam Dates

The CTET 2026 examination is set to take place on February 7 and 8, 2026, across more than 140 cities nationwide. The exam will be conducted in two shifts on both days.

First Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Second Shift: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
