CISF Recruitment 2026 Overview

Exciting news is on the horizon for job seekers aiming for government positions. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for safeguarding airports, seaports, and critical industrial sites, is set to launch a significant recruitment initiative in the upcoming years. This initiative aims to fill around 91,790 vacancies, potentially offering nearly 100,000 young individuals the chance to secure government employment soon.

Growing Responsibilities of CISF

The CISF's duties are expanding as new airports are constructed, metro and high-speed transit systems grow, and major industrial projects are initiated. To meet these demands, additional personnel are essential. Consequently, the Home Ministry has sanctioned an increase in the CISF's authorized strength.

Increase in Force Strength

CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan announced that the Home Ministry approved raising the CISF's authorized strength from 200,000 to 220,000 in August 2025. This approximately 10% increase aims to bolster the security of vital national infrastructure. Over the next five years, the CISF plans to recruit a total of 91,790 personnel, providing opportunities for young individuals eager to serve in the security sector.

Annual Recruitment Plans

The recruitment strategy includes hiring about 14,000 new personnel each year, encompassing constables and various ranks. A significant portion of these positions will be allocated to the Fire Wing, with around 21,790 posts designated for fire safety roles at airports, industrial facilities, and large government institutions.

Upcoming Recruitment Statistics

Statistics indicate that the recruitment process for approximately 54,523 positions will be finalized between 2025 and 2026, suggesting a substantial number of job opportunities for young candidates in the next two years.

CISF's Role in Job Fairs

The CISF has been a leader in government-organized CAPF job fairs, issuing the highest number of appointment letters—54,523—in the 2025 job fair. This achievement positions the CISF as the organization with the most appointments among all Central Armed Police Forces, highlighting its role as a significant employment source for youth.

Women in CISF

The representation of women in the CISF is gradually increasing, currently exceeding 8%. Last year, women constituted approximately 12.75% of the total recruits, and this figure is expected to remain between 8% and 9% for the 2026 recruitment cycle. The CISF has implemented measures to enhance female participation, reserving 10% of seats in specialized and in-service training for women and deploying them in gender-neutral roles.

New Security Responsibilities

The launch of several significant projects has expanded the CISF's responsibilities. From April 2025 to January 2026, 10 key institutions, including Kartavya Bhawan in New Delhi and Noida International Airport, will come under CISF security. Other projects include the Bhakra Dam Project in Punjab and the Jawaharpur Thermal Power Project in Uttar Pradesh.
