Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply?

To qualify for the Lecturer position, candidates must hold a postgraduate degree (Second Division) or an equivalent qualification in the relevant subject. A B.Ed. degree from a recognized institution is also required.

Educational qualifications will be assessed according to the notifications from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and relevant court directives. Additionally, candidates must possess a domicile certificate from Chhattisgarh. Each candidate may apply for only one subject.

Age Requirements

What should be the age?
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 35 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories and certain government employees as per the established rules.


Selection Process

How will the selection for the Lecturer post take place?
The selection process will initiate with a written examination organized by the CGSSB. After the exam, the department will verify documents and eligibility criteria. The main stages of the selection process include:

  • Written Examination: An objective-type test worth 100 marks conducted by the CGSSB.
  • Selection List: This will be created based on the written exam results and will remain valid for six months.
  • Waiting List: A waiting list comprising up to 25 percent of the vacancies in each category will be prepared and will remain valid for nine months.
  • Document Verification: The appointing authority will verify the certificates.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates must be medically fit. For differently-abled candidates, an assessment regarding their disability and job-related requirements will be conducted by the District Medical Board.
  • Character Verification: Police verification of selected candidates will be conducted.
