Exciting Opportunity for Scouts and Guides: The Central Railway has announced a recruitment drive for 12 positions under the Scouts and Guides quota for the year 2026-27. The online application process commenced on July 13, 2026, and will remain open until August 12, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:


Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of India, Nepal, or Bhutan. Tibetan refugees who arrived before January 1, 1962, and individuals of Indian origin from specific countries intending to settle in India are also eligible, provided they have an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.


Educational Requirements:


For Level-2 Positions: Candidates should have completed the 12th grade or an equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks. This requirement is waived for SC, ST, and Ex-servicemen. Those who have completed their matriculation along with an NCVT or SCVT-recognized ITI course or a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship are also eligible.


For Level-1 Positions: Candidates must have passed the 10th grade. ITI qualifications or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT are also acceptable.


Typing Requirement: Candidates selected for Clerk-cum-Typist roles must achieve a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within two years of their appointment.


Scouts & Guides Qualifications: This is a mandatory requirement for both Level-1 and Level-2 positions. Candidates must hold the President’s Scout, Guide, Rover, Ranger, or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) and have been active members of a recognized Scouts organization for the last five years (since 2021-22). Participation in at least two events at the National or All India Railway level and two events at the State level is also required.


Age Limit: Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2027.

Salary Information: Selected candidates will receive a minimum basic pay according to their pay level, along with additional allowances as per Railway regulations. A stipend will be provided during the training period, and certain posts may have security deposit and bond conditions.

No Interview Process: There will be no interview for this recruitment. Candidates must achieve at least 40% in the written exam. Final selection is contingent upon passing the medical fitness test conducted by the railway administration.
