Introduction of Online Examination

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has rolled out a new online examination aimed at counselors and wellness teachers in schools. This exam is conducted using a ‘Remote Invigilation’ system, which allows for supervision from a distance. The primary goal is to create a more effective counseling framework for students within educational institutions. This initiative is part of CBSE’s Capacity Building Program, which evaluates counselors' abilities to understand and tackle the mental and emotional challenges that students encounter. An estimated 10,000 counselors are anticipated to take part in this examination, which will occur in multiple phases.

The initial phase of this examination began in February 2026. A unique aspect of this assessment is its focus not only on theoretical knowledge but also on the counselors' behavior, skills, and practical approaches within a school setting. Essentially, it assesses how they make decisions and support students in real-life situations.
