Important Notice from CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a reminder to all affiliated institutions regarding the accurate entry of student information in the List of Candidates (LOC) for the upcoming Class 10 and 12 main board examinations for the academic year 2025-26. The correction window will be open on the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, from October 13 to October 27. During this timeframe, schools are permitted to rectify any inaccuracies in student names, birth dates, and subject selections.

Importance of Accurate Data Entry

CBSE has emphasized that the names, birth dates, and selected subjects must align precisely with the records maintained by the schools. Any discrepancies could potentially impact students' future examinations and their marksheets. Therefore, schools are urged to be meticulous when completing the LOC.

Guidelines for Subject Code Selection

Be Careful in Selecting Subject Codes

To prevent errors in subject code selection, the Board has provided specific examples: For Class 10, the codes include Hindi-A (002), Hindi-B (085), Urdu-A (003), Urdu-B (303), Mathematics (Standard) (041), and Mathematics (Basic) (241). For Class 12, the codes include Hindi Core (302), Hindi Optional (002), English Core (301), English Optional (001), Sanskrit Core (322), Sanskrit Optional (022), Urdu Core (303), Urdu Optional (003), Mathematics (041), and Applied Maths (241). Schools must ensure the correct selection of these codes, as they are crucial for students' results and marksheets.

Correction Process Details

Information on the Correction Process

The correction facility will remain accessible even after the LOC submission. If a school submits the LOC and pays the required fees on time but later identifies an error in a student's information, corrections can still be made until the deadline, although additional fees may apply for specific changes.

Once the correction process is completed, schools will have the ability to generate verification slips for each student. Should any errors be identified during this verification, the correction facility will still be available.

Similar Rules for Other Classes

Same rules apply for Class 9 and 11 students.

CBSE has also announced that the option to amend names, birth dates, and subject details in the LOC forms for Class 9 and 11 will be available from October 13 to October 27. Schools are advised to ensure all information is entered accurately during this period to prevent any future complications.
