BSNL Recruitment 2026 Overview


BSNL Recruitment 2026: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a government-owned telecom entity, has unveiled a significant recruitment initiative for the year 2026. This drive invites online applications from qualified individuals for 120 Senior Executive Trainee (SET) roles, targeting young professionals with backgrounds in engineering and finance who aspire to establish careers in the public sector.


Application Process and Important Dates

As per the announcement from BSNL, the application window opened on February 5, 2026, and candidates can submit their online applications until March 7, 2026. Applications must be submitted exclusively through BSNL's official websites, bsnl.co.in or externalexam.bsnl.co.in.


Position Details and Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment encompasses two distinct streams: 95 positions are designated for the Telecom stream, while 25 are allocated for the Finance stream. Candidates applying for the Telecom stream should possess a BE or B. Tech degree in relevant fields such as Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Science, IT, Electrical, or Instrumentation, with a minimum of 60% marks. For the Finance stream, candidates must hold a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) qualification.


Age Limit and Relaxations

Age Limit: 21 to 30 years
The upper age limit for candidates in the general category, EWS, and OBC (creamy layer) is set at 30 years. OBC non-creamy layer candidates are eligible for a 3-year age relaxation, while SC/ST candidates can avail of a 5-year relaxation. Candidates with disabilities will receive additional age relaxations as per government regulations. The minimum age requirement is 21 years.


Salary and Application Fee

Selected candidates will receive an initial salary ranging from Rs. 24,900 to Rs. 50,500 (pre-revised) under the IDA pay scale E-3. Upon successful completion of the probation period, they will be confirmed in the Senior Executive position. Additional allowances and benefits will be provided according to government policies. The examination is expected to be conducted in CBT mode.


The application fee is Rs. 2500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates will pay Rs. 1250. This fee is payable online and is non-refundable. The written examination for the BSNL SET recruitment is anticipated to take place on March 29, 2026, as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). An editing window will be available from March 8 to March 15, 2026, allowing candidates to rectify any mistakes in their applications.
