BSF Head Constable Recruitment 2025 Overview



The Border Security Force (BSF) has initiated the recruitment process for the positions of Head Constable, Radio Operator (RO), and Radio Mechanic (RM) starting today. A total of 1121 vacancies are available, with the application window open until September 23, 2025, on the official BSF website.


Vacancy Breakdown

The recruitment will fill 1121 positions, which include:


1. 910 vacancies for Head Constable (RO)


2. 211 vacancies for Head Constable (RM)


Educational Requirements

Applicants must have completed at least 10th grade along with an ITI Diploma. The ITI Diploma for the Radio Operator (RO) role should be in one of the following fields: Radio, Television, Electronics, COPA, General Electronics, or Data Entry Operator.


For the Radio Mechanic (RM) position, candidates should possess a 2-year ITI Diploma in areas such as Radio, Television, General Electronics, COPA, Electrician, Fitter, IT and ESM, Data Entry Operator, Equipment Maintenance, Computer Hardware, or Mechatronics.


Age Criteria

Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old as of September 23, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories in accordance with government regulations.


Selection Process

The selection will occur in three phases:


1. **Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)**: Male candidates must be at least 168 cm tall, while female candidates must be 157 cm. Males must have a chest measurement of 80 cm, expanding to 85 cm when fully inhaled. The PET will include running, long jump, and high jump.


2. **Computer-Based Test (CBT)**: The CBT will assess candidates' technical skills and knowledge, with a total of 250 marks allocated for Radio Operator (200 for CBT + 50 for Dictation) and 200 marks for Radio Mechanic.


3. **Document Verification (DV)**: Candidates must present original documents for verification.


Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive a salary according to the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) Pay-Level-4 in BSF, starting from Rs 25,500 and potentially reaching up to Rs 81,100 with increments and allowances.
