Exciting Opportunity for Sports Talents: The Border Security Force (BSF) has unveiled a significant recruitment drive for 549 positions under the Constable (General Duty) Sports Quota for 2025. This initiative is aimed at athletes who have showcased exceptional skills in various sports at national or international levels.
The online application window will open on December 27, 2025, and interested candidates can apply through the BSF's official recruitment portal until January 15, 2026. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
Eligibility for 10th Pass Athletes:
A notable aspect of this recruitment is that candidates need only a 10th-grade education. This presents a remarkable chance for athletes who have balanced their academic and sports careers to secure a stable government position.
The recruitment encompasses over 30 sports disciplines, including athletics, boxing, wrestling, hockey, football, kabaddi, volleyball, shooting, swimming, and yoga, providing ample opportunities for athletes across various sports.

Among the 549 available positions, 277 are designated for male athletes and 272 for female athletes. The allocation of posts is designed to ensure representation from nearly all major sports.
Age Criteria and Reservations:
Applicants must be between 18 and 23 years old as of August 18, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories: SC and ST candidates receive a 5-year extension, while OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get a 3-year extension.
Salary and Benefits:
Selected candidates will earn a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 under Pay Level-3, along with various allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and benefits under the New Pension Scheme.
Selection Procedure:
The selection process will involve multiple stages, starting with online applications and verification of sports certificates. This will be followed by document verification, where original educational and sports certificates will be examined. A Physical Standard Test (PST) will assess height, weight, and chest measurements.
Finally, a merit list will be created based on sports achievements, and a medical fitness test will be mandatory prior to selection. The final decision will rely heavily on sports performance, merit, and medical evaluations.

Male candidates from General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 159. Female candidates and those from SC/ST categories are exempt from this fee.
