In a recent statement, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari shared insights regarding the teacher recruitment initiative. Initially, around 46,000 teaching positions were anticipated to be filled through TRE-4. However, the current recruitment will focus on approximately 20,000 positions. When pressed for the exact number of vacancies, the Minister urged candidates to remain patient for the official figures, assuring that a sufficient number of vacancies will be made available to avoid disappointment for eligible applicants.
Annual Recruitment Strategy for Teachers
The Bihar government has introduced a long-term strategy aimed at hiring 100,000 teachers over the next five years. This plan includes the recruitment of about 20,000 teachers each year. This approach is designed to benefit both new graduates and those who have previously applied but were not selected. It ensures that students graduating each year will not have to wait long for job openings, while also allowing previous candidates to improve and reattempt the examination.
Projected Teacher Count in Bihar by 2030
Minister Tiwari emphasized that significant teacher appointments have already occurred in Bihar during the last three recruitment phases, resulting in approximately 250,000 teachers being hired. Currently, the total number of government teachers in Bihar stands at around 580,000. With the new recruitment strategy, the state aims to increase this number to 680,000 by 2030. He encouraged candidates to enhance their preparation as the detailed advertisement for the recruitment could be released anytime in July.
