A Long-Awaited Recruitment

After 14 years, librarian recruitment is finally resuming.


The last recruitment for librarian roles in Bihar occurred in 2011-12, leaving many schools and colleges without permanent staff to manage their libraries. The Education Department has assured that this recruitment will be substantial, aiming to fill as many vacancies as possible to enhance library services for students.


Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications Required:


Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in library science with a minimum of 45% marks. There will be a 5% relaxation for reserved categories, women, and disabled candidates, allowing them to qualify with 40% marks. Additionally, candidates must have passed the eligibility test.


Age Requirements

Age Limit:


The minimum age for applicants is set at 21 years. Notably, a new rule allows for a 10-year relaxation in the maximum age limit, benefiting those whose ages have increased since the last recruitment. Furthermore, 35% of the total positions will be reserved for women, providing significant opportunities for female candidates in the state.
