The Bihar Technical Service Commission has unveiled a recruitment drive for 2809 Junior Engineer roles for the year 2026. Individuals holding a diploma can submit their applications online until January 12, 2026. Here’s what you need to know about the application procedure.


This is an excellent chance for those with engineering diplomas seeking government employment in Bihar. The commission has issued a notification for 2809 Junior Engineer positions, allowing many young candidates to take advantage of this opportunity.


The recruitment will fill a total of 2809 Junior Engineer roles, with 2653 positions designated for Junior Engineers. Additionally, there are 70 openings for Mechanical Junior Engineers and 86 for Electrical Junior Engineers.


Candidates interested in the Junior Engineer roles must possess a 3-year diploma in the relevant field. A diploma in Civil Engineering is required for Civil JE, Mechanical Engineering for Mechanical JE, and Electrical Engineering for Electrical JE. Reservation benefits will be applicable only to Bihar residents as per the commission's guidelines.


All applicants, regardless of category, are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100, which can be processed online.


The age criteria for Junior Engineer recruitment stipulates a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 37 years, calculated as of August 1, 2025. OBC, EBC, and female candidates from Bihar are entitled to a 3-year age relaxation, while SC and ST candidates can avail a 5-year relaxation.


Selected candidates for the Junior Engineer positions will earn a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400, along with government allowances and additional benefits. Selection will be based on a written examination and relevant work experience.
