BSSC Recruitment Notification for Sports Trainers



The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 379 Sports Trainer positions, with a specific allocation for women candidates.


This initiative marks a significant employment opportunity for the youth in Bihar. Following previous recruitments for CGL-4 and Office Attendant roles, the BSSC is now focusing on filling these Sports Trainer vacancies, which also emphasize inclusivity for female applicants.


The application window will open on October 9, 2025, and will remain active until November 11, 2025. Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the official BSSC website, bssc.bihar.gov.in.


Out of the total 379 positions, 128 are reserved for women. The remaining vacancies are categorized into unreserved, SC, ST, MBC, BC, women from backward classes, and EBC, ensuring opportunities for diverse groups and promoting sports talent.


Eligibility Criteria


Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any field and possess a technical qualification in sports. Acceptable qualifications include a Diploma in Sports Coaching from the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Coaching from the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education or the Central Sports University, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized sports institution.


Significant sports achievements are also crucial for applicants. Candidates should have represented India in international competitions or their state in national or international championships. Participation in prestigious events like the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World Championships, or Asian Championships will be considered. Additionally, consistent involvement in All India Inter-University Championships, National Championships, Junior Championships, or inter-competition events such as Police and Railway Championships will be advantageous.


Age Requirements


For the age criteria, candidates in the General Category must be aged between 21 and 37 years. The upper age limit for male and female candidates in the BC and EBC categories is set at 40 years. Unreserved women also have a maximum age limit of 40 years, while candidates from SC and ST categories can be up to 42 years old.


Selection Methodology


The selection will involve a written examination followed by an interview. Candidates will first take the written test, and those who qualify will be invited for an interview. A merit list will be compiled based on qualifications, experience, and sports achievements, which will determine the final appointments.
