Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 72nd CCE 2026: The BPSC has officially announced the notification for the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for the year 2026. Application Process
As per the official announcement, the online application window will open on May 7, 2026, and will remain accessible until May 31, 2026. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a graduate degree from a recognized institution to be eligible for the BPSC 72nd Competitive Examination.
Age Limit: The age criteria for male candidates range from 20 to 37 years, while for female candidates, it is 20 to 40 years. Relaxations in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates from reserved categories as per the existing regulations.
Selection Process
Stages of Selection: The recruitment process will unfold in three phases. Initially, a Preliminary Examination (Prelims) will be conducted, which will consist of objective-type questions. Candidates who pass this stage will then proceed to the Main Examination (Mains), which will be descriptive. The final phase will include a Personal Interview, and the ultimate merit list will be based on these evaluations.
Changes in Prelims Examination Pattern
New Guidelines: The BPSC has revised the pattern for the Preliminary Examination. According to the latest notification, candidates who choose not to answer a question must select Option ‘E’. Failure to select any option will result in negative marking, where one-third of the marks for that question will be deducted, along with penalties for incorrect answers.
The Preliminary Examination will consist of questions from the General Studies paper, carrying a total of 150 marks, and candidates will have two hours to complete it.
