Selection Process

How Selection Will Occur:
The selection process begins with a preliminary exam featuring objective questions on general knowledge, current affairs, mathematics, and reasoning. Male candidates must complete a 1.6 km run in 6 minutes, while female candidates must run 1 km in 5 minutes, along with high jump and long jump tests. Those who pass will undergo a medical examination. Final appointments will be based on the merit list, and candidates will receive a stipend during training.


Salary and Benefits

Upon successful recruitment as a Sub-Inspector, candidates will start with a basic pay of ₹35,400 under the BPSSC's Level 6 pay matrix, which can rise to ₹41,000–₹43,000 after five years. The total salary scale ranges from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400, with a monthly in-hand salary between ₹49,000 and ₹54,000. This includes allowances such as DA (Dairy Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), TA (Travel Allowance), medical benefits, uniform allowance, ration money, and city transport aid. The annual salary package can vary from ₹4.25 lakh to ₹13.5 lakh, with further increases upon retirement through pension, gratuity, and promotions.
