Bihar Police Recruitment Process Accelerated



The recruitment drive for more than 25,000 vacancies, which had been delayed due to the Bihar Assembly elections, is now moving forward. The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission, along with the Central Selection Board (CSBC), announced a recruitment notification set for March 2025. A staggering 1.6 million candidates have registered for the police constable roles, with a six-phase written examination conducted from July to August.


Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for Constable Recruitment

The written examination for the Bihar Police Constable positions took place during July and August, attracting over 1.673 million registrants. Following the written test, 99,690 candidates have been selected to participate in the upcoming PET and PST examinations, which are scheduled for December, as confirmed by the CSBC.


Upcoming Written Examination for Jail Warder and Other Positions

The application window for recruitment to Jail Warder, Alcohol Prohibition, and Constable roles opened on October 6th. Candidates can expect notifications regarding the written examination for these positions shortly. Those who successfully clear the written test will be invited to undergo a physical assessment soon after.


Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Procedure

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to announce the exam schedule for Sub-Inspector recruitment soon. This will include both a preliminary and a main examination for the SI roles.


Examinations Scheduled for Various Positions

Additionally, the examination for 33 Enforcement Sub-Inspector roles is planned for December 14th, while the recruitment test for 25 Assistant Jail Superintendent positions will take place on December 7th, 2025. Interviews for 24 Range Forest Officer roles are scheduled between November 19th and 21st.
