Salary for Junior Residents


Successful candidates appointed as Junior Residents in Bihar will receive a monthly salary of ₹65,000. No additional allowances or pension funds will be applicable. Eligibility Criteria:


Candidates must hold an MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India or the National Medical Commission. Note that current employees in the Bihar Health Service Cadre are not eligible to apply.


Age Limit: Candidates should not exceed 37 years of age as of August 1, 2025. However, there are relaxations for women and candidates from reserved categories as per government regulations. The age limits are as follows: 37 years for Unreserved (Male), 40 years for Unreserved (Female), 40 years for Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes (both genders), and 42 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (both genders). Persons with disabilities may receive an age relaxation of up to 10 years, allowing even 47-year-old disabled candidates to apply.
