Collaborating with 11 IT firms, including Google Education, the state aims to provide teachers with training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT). This initiative is designed to enhance teachers' digital skills and encourage the use of technology in classrooms. Additionally, the government plans to implement mandatory computer education starting from Class 6 in the upcoming academic year.

Collaboration with IT Companies

The Bihar Education Department has formed a partnership with 11 IT companies, including Google Education, to enhance teachers' technical skills. This program will focus on training teachers in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

The main objective of this training is to equip educators with digital skills that can be effectively utilized in their teaching practices. The central government's Skill Development Department will also lend support to this initiative, aiming to make the teaching process more efficient and technology-driven.

Centralized Training System at SCERT

A centralized training system is being established at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) campus. IT companies will conduct training sessions for teachers in batches, with school principals responsible for selecting participants.

The training will encompass both theoretical knowledge and practical applications of technology, enabling teachers to effectively use digital tools to enhance learning experiences.

Mandatory Computer Education from Class 6

The state government intends to make computer education compulsory for all government schools starting from Class 6 in the next academic session. To support this initiative, the IT infrastructure in schools will be upgraded.

Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari emphasized that special attention will be given to Artificial Intelligence during the teacher training, aiming to improve teaching methodologies and overall educational quality.

Smart Classrooms in Model Schools

In the first phase, the Bihar government plans to set up smart classrooms in 700 model schools. These classrooms will serve as training hubs for teachers, with the necessary technical infrastructure being developed.

Based on the outcomes of this initial phase, the program will gradually expand to include more government schools, providing students with access to digital education and a better understanding of future technologies.
