Selection Process Overview
The selection process for the CSBC Bihar positions involves several stages: a written examination, a physical test, document verification, and a medical examination. The merit list will be compiled based on these assessments.
1. Written Examination
This is the initial and most significant phase of the selection process. All candidates must participate in this OMR-based exam, which will include multiple-choice questions covering subjects such as Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Basic Computer Science, and Bihar-specific knowledge. The exam will be for 100 marks, with no negative marking, and will last for two hours. The qualifying marks are set at 30% for General/OBC candidates and 25% for SC/ST candidates.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who pass the written exam will proceed to the PST, which assesses physical fitness. Height requirements are as follows: Male General/OBC candidates must be 165 cm, while SC/ST candidates need to be 160 cm. Female candidates must be at least 155 cm tall, with SC/ST candidates needing to be 150 cm. Additionally, male candidates must have a chest measurement of 79-81 cm (General/OBC) or 78-80 cm (SC/ST), and female candidates must weigh a minimum of 48 kg.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
This test is for candidates who successfully complete the PST. It is a qualifying round that does not award marks. Male General/OBC candidates must run 1.6 km in 6 minutes, while female candidates must complete 1 km in 5 minutes. Relaxations may apply for reserved categories.
4. Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who clear the PET/PST will be invited for document verification, where original documents will be scrutinized. Required documents include the 12th-grade marksheet, caste certificate, age proof (birth certificate), ID proof, and a recent photograph.
5. Medical Examination
Candidates who pass the DV will undergo a medical examination, which will assess vision, hearing, dental health, and overall physical fitness. A vision of 6/6 without glasses is required, with some relaxations for SC/ST candidates.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be based solely on the written exam scores, while the physical, document verification, and medical tests will be qualifying rounds. The postings will be allocated based on the available vacancies.
