Bihar Board Launches Free NEET and JEE Coaching for Students
Bihar Board's New Initiative for NEET and JEE Coaching
The Bihar School Examination Board (Bihar Board) has announced a significant initiative aimed at supporting students. The Board will now offer coaching for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to students enrolled in schools under its jurisdiction. This project is set to commence with model schools located in Patna, with the Board currently coordinating with the District Education Office (DEO) to compile a list of 10 model schools.
This initiative is separate from the Bihar government's existing program that provides free residential coaching to a select group of 100 students.
Let's delve into the specifics of this initiative, including its operational framework, coaching providers, and overall objectives.
Commencement of Free Coaching Sessions
The Bihar School Examination Board's free coaching program for JEE and NEET-UG is scheduled to launch this month. Reports indicate that these coaching sessions will be held after regular school hours, specifically from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing students to attend their regular classes during the day.
Coaching Providers Involved
Students from the selected 10 model schools in Patna will benefit from free coaching for JEE and NEET-UG. These schools will be selected from 23 different blocks, and the coaching will be facilitated by 16 various institutions and NGOs. Notable contributors include IIT Kanpur, Physics Wallah (PW), Udayan, Adobe Express, Extra C, BIG (Bharat Innovation Global), and Freedom Education, with ongoing discussions to finalize arrangements.
Future Expansion Plans
The Bihar School Examination Board aims to expand this free coaching initiative beyond the initial 10 model schools in Patna. If the project proves successful, there are plans to extend free coaching for JEE and NEET-UG to additional model schools throughout the state, as well as to secondary and higher secondary institutions.
Growth of Model Schools
The Bihar School Examination Board is also planning to expand its model schools. Admissions for Class 9 have already been initiated for the current academic year, and these students will progress to Class 10 in 2027. As students complete Class 10, the model schools will be upgraded to accommodate classes up to Class 12, thereby broadening the educational scope.
