Bihar Board Extends Application Deadline for Class 10 Special and Compartment Exams 2026
Bihar School Examination Board Updates Application Timeline
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced an extension for the application deadline for the Class 10 Special and Compartment Examinations for 2026. Students eligible to take these exams can now submit their applications via the official BSEB website until April 10, 2026. This extension follows a previous deadline of April 7 for the Compartment Examination, aimed at assisting numerous students who missed the main exam or did not pass in one or two subjects.
As per the updated guidelines from BSEB, General Category students must pay an application fee of ₹950, which could total ₹1,010 with additional charges. In contrast, students from Reserved Categories (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes) will pay a fee of ₹835, potentially rising to ₹895 with applicable charges.
**Extra Fee for Practical Subjects**
Students choosing practical subjects like Home Science, Music, Dance, and Fine Arts will incur an additional fee of ₹30 for practical examination costs. Moreover, those seeking to improve their marks or taking a single-subject exam (English) will need to pay an extra ₹200 as a permission fee.
**Submission Process via School Authorities**
The BSEB has specified that applications for the Special and Compartment Examinations must be submitted online by the Headmaster or Principal of the respective school. Individual submissions by students will not be accepted. These examinations offer a vital second chance for students who have not succeeded in one or more subjects or wish to enhance their scores in the Class 10 Board Examinations. Students are encouraged to complete their applications promptly to avoid any last-minute complications.
